Despite its compact size, the T6 is capable of impressive small batch throughput, with manufacturer information stating performance of up to 5 lbs per hour dry and up to 18 lbs per hour fresh depending on material condition, preparation, and operating setup.

The T6 was designed as a true small capacity machine rather than a scaled down version of a large industrial system.

SoftTumble™ Technology

One of the defining features of the T6 is Twister’s SoftTumble™ processing system.

The tumbler measures only approximately 4 inches in diameter, reducing the distance material falls and travels inside the processing chamber.

That shorter tumble distance helps minimize impact during operation while still allowing material to move consistently across the cutting surface.

The polished 304 stainless steel interior also provides a smooth, non coated contact surface that helps material travel through the system without relying on PTFE or similar non stick coatings.

T6 Extreme Tumbler

Modern T6 systems use the T6 Extreme Tumbler, which replaces the earlier separate wet and dry tumbler configurations.

Designed for Fast Cleaning

Twister recommends cleaning the T6 after approximately every three hours of use. Recommended cleaning solutions include Simple Green Industrial Cleaner and 99% rubbing alcohol.

The manufacturer specifically recommends hand cleaning rather than pressure washing. The control box should be removed before cleaning and kept dry because it is not watertight.

The lid, tumbler, belt cover, chute, reel blade, and bed knife can be removed for cleaning. Twister states that the reel blade and bed knife assembly should not be soaked, while many other parts may be soaked in hot water and Simple Green before rinsing.

Optional Leaf Collector System

The T6 can be paired with the dedicated Twister T6 Leaf Collector Vacuum for an integrated collection setup.

The Leaf Collector uses a 1 HP, 750 watt fan cooled motor running at approximately 3,450 RPM and produces up to 800 CFM of airflow.

Depending on the package purchased, filtration bags may also be included for separating collected material by particle size.

Leaf Collector Maintenance

Twister recommends cleaning the Leaf Collector approximately every eight hours of use.

The manufacturer specifically warns against pressure washing the vacuum because the motor is not watertight. Cleaning involves removing the inlet cover, accessing the impeller, cleaning the housing, and washing the collection bag separately.
