The EZTRIM Commercial Plant Destemming Machine is a high capacity preparation system designed to separate harvested plant material from stems quickly, gently, and with far less manual labor than hand processing.
A geared high torque motor pulls stems through interchangeable entry holes while protruded tips remove plant material away from the machine surface. With two complete sets of four feed holes, the system supports one or two operators and can process approximately 80 to 150 lbs per hour in a dual operator workflow.
The machine is designed for both fresh and dried harvested plant material, with speed control allowing operators to adjust feed rate according to stem thickness, moisture level, and material condition.
High Capacity Commercial Preparation
The EZTRIM system is built to reduce one of the most labor intensive steps in post harvest processing. A single operator can replace several people working manually, while two operators can work simultaneously to increase overall throughput.
Dual Operator Design
Two sets of four interchangeable entry holes allow operators to work from both sides of the machine at the same time. This gives the unit eight total feed positions and helps increase production without requiring a second machine.
Gentle Stem Separation
Protruded entry tips are designed to remove plant material away from the flat face of the machine rather than compressing it directly against the surface. This helps reduce unnecessary crushing and compression during processing.
Variable Speed Control
True variable speed control allows operators to adjust roller speed according to the material being processed. Lower speeds can be used for more delicate dried material, while higher speeds may be appropriate for fresher, more flexible stems.
Forward + Reverse Operation
The control system includes forward and reverse functionality. If a stem becomes lodged or material is too large for the selected entry hole, the operator can reverse the rollers to clear the obstruction before continuing.
High Torque Motor
A geared motor delivers 101 lb in of torque at 170 RPM, providing the pulling force needed for continuous stem feeding in commercial environments.
Interchangeable Feed Tips
The machine uses interchangeable screw in entry tips, allowing operators to match hole size to stem diameter for more efficient separation.
The supplied replacement tip sizes include:
- 5/32"
- 1/4"
- 3/8"
- 1/2"
Custom sizes can also be used where required.
Integrated Workstation
Built in front, rear, and top work surfaces help keep processing organized. The front table can be used for collected plant material, the rear area for separated stems, and the upper surface for preparation work.
Fresh + Dry Processing
The machine can process both fresh and dried harvested plant material. Operators can adjust roller speed and entry hole selection to better match different moisture levels and stem characteristics.
Food Grade Contact Materials
Surfaces exposed to processed material are constructed from food grade 6061 aluminum and silicone.
UL Certified Components
Key electrical components use UL certified parts, including the control box, motor, and power cord.
Three Phase Commercial Power
The machine operates on 120V or 240V AC, 60 Hz, three phase power, drawing 1.9 amps. Facilities should confirm three phase electrical service is available before installation, and installation should be completed by a qualified electrician familiar with three phase equipment.
Recommended Operating Practices
- Read the complete owner’s manual before operating.
- Confirm the correct three phase electrical service is available and properly installed.
- Position the machine on a stable, level floor.
- Select feed tip sizes appropriate to the stem diameter being processed.
- Begin at a lower speed setting and increase gradually as needed.
- Keep hands, tools, and loose clothing away from the feed openings and rollers.
- Use the reverse control to clear lodged stems rather than pulling material by hand.
- Coordinate timing between operators when running in dual operator mode.
- Disconnect electrical power before cleaning or maintenance.
- Keep the front, rear, and top work surfaces clear and organized during operation.
Preparing Material
- Sort branches by approximate stem diameter before processing.
- Select the feed tip size closest to each stem diameter.
- Remove foreign objects before feeding material into the machine.
- Test a small quantity first to confirm speed and tip selection.
- Adjust settings based on whether material is fresh or dried.
Feeding Technique
Guide each stem into the selected entry hole and allow the rollers to pull it through. Avoid forcing oversized stems into a hole that is too small, and use the reverse control if a stem becomes lodged rather than attempting to pull it free by hand.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Routine maintenance is straightforward:
- Remove loose dust and debris with compressed air.
- Clean metal surfaces with denatured alcohol or appropriate cleaner and a rag.
- Wipe rollers with denatured alcohol.
- Use a plastic putty knife to remove stubborn residue from rollers.
- Feed tips and the chute can be removed for soaking when needed.
- If using a pressure washer, do not spray the speed control box.
Feed Tip Maintenance
- Inspect feed tips regularly for wear or buildup.
- Remove tips for soaking or deep cleaning as needed.
- Confirm tips are securely screwed in before restarting the machine.
- Replace worn or damaged tips with approved EZTRIM replacements.
Motor and Control Box Care
- Keep the control box clean and dry at all times.
- Never spray water or use a pressure washer directly on the control box.
- Inspect the power cord and electrical connections periodically.
- Have electrical repairs performed by qualified personnel.
Storage
- Clean and dry the machine before extended storage.
- Remove and clean feed tips and the chute.
- Store indoors in a dry environment.
- Protect electrical components from moisture and dust.
